Nerve cells are also called neurons.

Soma is another name for a body cell.

Dendrites receive electrical impulses, and transmit them toward the body cell.

When there is the right amount of electric signals and chemical signals they translate into electric currents, and and once they reach the soma the membrane produces a very strong but brief current called an action potential.

The action potential reaches the axon terminal.

From the axon terminal the axons then carry the electrical impulse to where it needs to go, such as the cleft of a muscle fiber.

The axon delivers electrical impulses the axon terminal, then from there the impulses go where they need to.
